Undertake Secure Transactions Online With a BIN List Database

You are leaving a gaping hole in the security platform of your business if you fail to invest in the right BIN list online. If you want to cut down on your losses due to fraudulent card transactions and chargebacks, it is extremely necessary that you institute a card validation setup that is anchored on the right BIN list software.

Businesses always have to contend with the dire consequences of fraud. There is not a single company on the face of the earth that has not dealt with clients who tried to commit fraud and steal from them. With the advent of card-based transactions, business owners and managers have to deal with security issues that go beyond the usual problems like pilferage, embezzlement and shoplifting. The modern times have brought about some serious security issues that stakeholders and managers have to address in order to maintain the viability of their business. Today, online merchants are left with no other choice but to adopt security and preventive measures in the face of the growing threat of fraud and theft.

The Need for a BIN List Download

BIN list search and BIN list database are important tools that the company can use to monitor and validate all transactions made through debit cards, gift cards and credit cards. It provides essential and critical data and information that are needed by the merchant in order to prevent possible fraud in online purchase and other related transactions involving cards.

The card of a consumer doesn't have to be physically pilfered for it to be considered stolen. While this may be the most common way by which cards are stolen, modern technology has given rise to other ways by which shady entities can achieve their goal and gain access to critical information and data about your credit card account. Anyone can become victim of credit card theft through several ways. Fraudster can gain access to sensitive credit card details and even copy the information or lift the data from the magnetic strip at the back of the credit or debit card.

Minimize Losses Due to Frauds in Credit Card Transactions

Because of this high level of fraud, business owners and managers need to adopt a more reliable security protocol to filter out fraudulent card transactions and minimize losses as a result of chargebacks. You can no longer rely on the age-old method of running through the computer all credit card purchases. A credit card holder may not even be aware of it that his or her card was already stolen. Thus, it is incumbent upon business owners and manager to adopt a fail-proof system to weed out these fraudulent credit card transactions and purchases. This is the main reason why you have to invest in the right BIN list checker.

The BIN list is now an indispensable business tool of online merchants. Learn how you can prevent fraudulent credit card and debit card transactions through a complete and reliable BIN list search.

Ignore Web Development Mistakes at Your Own Risk

The difference between a successful web development company having a proven track-record of developing effective websites and a company that is not known for the efficiency of its websites is quality. This quality is determined by whether a particular web development company takes time out to right the wrongs made during custom web development or not. The fact of the matter is that that no development company can afford to ignore the mistakes made during the process of development. If it knows that its developers have made a bunch of coding errors and ends up ignoring this fact, they are doing irreparable damage to their reputation.

Apart from their reputation which takes a big hit, so do their clients because they are delivered a substandard product. Here are two negative outcomes of ignoring mistakes.

Failure to Ensure the Requisite Results

A client comes to a web development company with a set of requirements in mind. It is through the satisfactory integration of their requirements in the website/web application that the client can achieve his predetermined goals and objectives. Any mistakes, in the process of web development, can contribute towards the failure of the project and a situation where the end product is unable to achieve the desired results. For many businesses, such a situation results in a loss of revenue as they are unable to optimize the use of the application. The blame for all this can be laid at the door of the 'mistake/s' that were ignored by the company in charge of developing the web application or site.

Delay in Project Delivery

Why is it that some companies choose to ignore the mistakes done at the development stage? One of the reasons for this is that they don't want to miss out on the project delivery date. They think that if they spend time trying to sort out the problem, it will lead to project delays. So, they spend time trying to hide the mistake and trying to work around it. But, instead of helping them save time, such a solution actually ends up taking more time. What's more, such mistakes don't remain hidden for a long time and can rear ugly their ugly heads at a later date during project development. This leads to even more delays. So, ignoring mistakes doesn't pay in the long run. In trying to save time, such companies end up losing more time.

Trying to ignore mistakes is like a disaster that is waiting to happen. This is why it's of paramount importance that, if mistakes do happen during the process of custom website development, they are sorted out at the initial stages itself.

How to Increase Probability of Getting Your Links Clicked at the End of Your Article?

Write and share your thoughts, this is perhaps the most in demand hobby nowadays and it is being done using the internet. Internet has invaded almost all parts of the world and it continues to become one of the most reliable sources of information. It contains a lot of reading materials that could help an individual. It is also the best way to communicate to your friends, colleagues, and of course your family. Since internet is free to be accessed by anyone, many create their own blog site, write articles on it, and earn income. You might be wondering how can this possible. It's quite simple to understand, if the number of individual that visits your site increase and it become popular, companies will come to you to advertise on it. The challenging part is how to reach this kind of success?

Attracting internet users to read the articles you have written and visit your site could be hard but it is achievable. With a little of hard work and a lot of determination you can surely gain success.

The first thing that you must do is to write articles that are interesting. Think of a topic that would interest the readers and would make them share what they have read. Almost all social networking sites allow sharing of links and you can make use of it in order to attract more individuals to read your articles. Once you attract the readers there is a huge possibility that the links you included will be clicked and eventually improve its popularity.

Don't give all information about the topic on the article. This kind of trick is being done by almost all websites. The key is to leave something more interesting on the link that you have included on your article so that they will be forced to click the link and continue reading. However, make sure that you do this trick effectively. You need to choose when will be the right time to cut the topic and where it should be divided.

Add the phrase 'for more related articles click this link' on the article. Place this at the end of your article to invite your readers to read more about the topic on the link that you have provided. Just remember that when you do this you are sure with what the link contains and it does have related information from the previous topic.

Don't hesitate to add links to other sites. Aside from your link, you can also add others link on the article you wrote. This will not just create an opportunity for your site to be known by other webpage owners but there's also the possibility that they will return the favor. In fact, it would be a great idea if you will include links that are already known online so that the readers will also be attracted to your link.

There are more to learn but if you are serious on what you are trying to aim, you will definitely achieve it.

Take these as your guide and if you will work hard on every article that you will write for sure many will click on your link.

Planning for Your Ecommerce Site From the Beginning

So you have a business idea for a new e-commerce website. You're excited about your new idea as any entrepreneur is. In your mind sets a vision of the perfect website with highly targeted Google traffic flowing in the masses. Your Google analytics is off the charts, and your conversion rate is above 25%. Life is good, but at the moment it is all just a dream. The reality of it is, that building an awesome website that is captivating and converts well is just a small piece of a very large pie in the e-commerce world. After all an amazing website is useless if it is never found. With that said it is a must for any aspiring e-commerce entrepreneur to take a a dose of reality. High quality traffic flowing into your site like an undammed river and top 10 Google rankings do not come easily, they are the result of search engine and internet marketing starting from the get go. Failure to plan for search engine marketing is a sure way to put your e-commerce business on a track to the ground.

Start planning for your website by researching your chosen industry online. See who your competitors are, what their websites are about, and what keywords they are ranking for as well as their age. An industry with more competitors vying for shelf space or in the case Google space will be a much tougher commercial arena to compete it. Along with that analyze the age of your competitors, as older websites are weighted better in Google. These factors must be considered and used for project the amount of effort that will need to be put into Search engine marketing and their return on investment.

When choosing the url for your website consider keywords that you would like to rank for in the future. The importance of this varies from industry to industry and key word to key words, but in general a website that sells pet supplies will have an easier time ranking for the key word pet supplies if the words pet supplies are in the domain. Be careful when choosing not to be too narrow. In the long run if you expand beyond the domain targeted key word your business might be limited. For example, from a human psyche perspective of marketing, if you initially sell wine glasses and choose "janeswineglasses.com" you may have a hard time expanding if you carry other products. Alternatively many people choose to go with a branded domain to avoid such problems. This is ok as long as you intend to use SEO friendly urls which will include categories and product names in urls.

Buy your domain early in your planning process. Older domains do well in Google, it's no secret, just do a search for anything and check the ages of top domains. While you may not be able to change time, Google does put new domains in a so called "sandbox" for a few months. During this period the search engines algorithms devalue your site. If you can get through this phase before you even intend to launch your site, you are one giant step ahead of the game.

Give the search engines some content to crawl as early as possible. Let the search engines know they there is a site there and what it will be about. This best done with setting up a blog directory on your server and blogging about stuff related to your business. This will give you the chance to feed the search engines with exclusive keyword rich content that will help you the long run when you get your e-commerce site in place.

The bottom line here is that your internet marketing efforts need to begin as soon as possible. Industry needs to be evaluated before you begin. Don't start until you understand how competitive your niche is in the e-commerce world and what will be needed to achieve profits. If you do decide to go through with your e-commerce venture, choose an appropriate domain and buy it early. Most importantly feed the search engines with good content before your site is even launched via the use of a blog.

Four Tips for Choosing a Quality Web Development Service

Every website owner is going to be faced with the necessity for web development at some point in the life of their website. The online world changes rapidly and frequently so keeping up to date with the latest tools and trends is an essential aspect of staying ahead of competitors. Unless yours is a web development business, it's likely that you are going to need to hire the services of a commercial web development team, and this can be a more involved process than you might think.

The Internet is a great place to start your search for a web development company, but there will be hundreds of local services to choose from and it's not a situation where you want to make the wrong choice. It can be difficult to find a quality website development team, and to define one, since, while there are set qualifications for web development skills, many of the best in the industry are self-taught or have learned through extensive industry experience. This makes it an area where simply looking at someone's resume won't be enough in most cases, to determine whether they are the right person for the job. While many factors will contribute to your final decision, here are four useful tips:

1. Customer Service: Any web development activities will involve ongoing interaction between you and your development team, so a high level of customer service is essential. Check out testimonials and service reviews by former customers of the company and make sure that they have a good history of customer service. It's a good idea to have a face to face meeting before contracting any website development work so you know who you are dealing with and can gauge the professionalism of their operation.

2. Web Design: Anyone you employ for the web development of your site must also have basic skills and understanding of the principles of web design. Sufficient web design knowledge and experience is essential so as to maintain the integrity of your website as well as optimise its function.

3. SEO: Another knowledge area linked to website development that you should look for in your developer is that of SEO or search engine optimisation. Some website development activities can disadvantage the ranking of websites, so it's important that all web development activities are moving in a search engine friendly direction.

4. Portfolio: Before you enter into a contract with a website development service provider, make sure you're happy with the quality of their prior completed projects. Most businesses will be happy to provide you with samples of their work, so if they are unwilling do so, you should proceed with caution.

Websites are playing mediators role between end user and business owner. Quality website design and development services help you to create and maintain strong platform to interact with end user. Top Reasons Why Many Companies Use Joomla For Website Development

There are many different programs that can be used for website development or design. Choosing the one that is right for you is something that you will need to discuss with the people who are working on your site. One program that many website development companies are using to create secure and highly functional websites is Joomla.

What is Joomla?

Joomla is a content management system that is free and can be used to publish content on the World Wide Web. A content management system (CMS) is a program which allows a person to alter, add to or update their website's content.

It can be used with both text and HTML portions of the website. The development of CMS functionality made it much easier for companies to maintain their own sites rather than paying a website design or development company (or their own IT staff) to update or add information. The basic CMS can be altered using add-ons and extensions that can customize functionality and give a company a highly functional and attractive website that meets their needs.

There are other content management systems available but Joomla continues to be popular. There are many reasons for this. Here are a few of them that you may want to consider before beginning your next website development project.

Security

One of the largest benefits of using Joomla is the security that it offers. HTML based websites are often plagued by security issues that Joomla-based sites do not experience. There are coding components that are built into Joomla along with some script elements that make it difficult to jeopardize the security of a Joomla site. That is not to say that some issues do not exist but the fact is that it is the extensions and add-ons that can cause problems rather than the basic structure of the site itself.

The security that Joomla offers is due to the fact that it uses PHP code instead of HTML. It makes it easier to identify malicious code and then eradicate it, thereby removing viruses, Trojans and other undesirable elements from a site's structure. The program also offers updates and patches that can be utilized to counteract any hacks or security issues that may have developed.

How to ensure your Joomla site is as secure as possible

There are a few ways that you can ensure that your Joomla-based website development project is as secure as possible. The first is to hire a development team which is familiar with Joomla to build your site and perform regular basic maintenance.

The next step is to be very careful about which add-ons and extensions you use on your site. There are many reviews that can help you avoid problematic ones. Some tend to be much more susceptible to hacking or mal-worming than others. Speaking with your website development team will help you figure out which of the secure add-ons are right for you.

By putting a lot of thought and care into the program you will be using to build your site you will be able to figure out whether Joomla or HTML is the route that you want to take.

Top Seven Reasons Your Idea for a New Website Will Fail

Oh, the internet. An industry so young, still so new and so horribly misunderstood. We have yet to see the pinnacle of what the internet can become, but we know what it is not. Fortunes are made and lost on new websites, applications and other new IP's. Everyone is grabbing for their slice of the lucrative web pie - and you just had the most amazing, revolutionary epiphany that will set the broadband trail ablaze with people who cannot wait to type your domain name into their website browser's URL. Congratulations, you will most likely fail - In this article, and subsequent follow-up articles, I am going to tell you why.

It's an Idea, not a business

I understand that you believe you have something to offer every digital surfer in the world Everyone wants it, already does it and people are already making a ton of cash on it. The only problem is you won't make much money, at least not for a while. Be honest, you don't know how cash is made on the internet, do you?

Funding

You have made it this far, did your research and still believe in your idea - now you have to pay for it. Although you consider yourself a renaissance man and know everything digital you can't do everything, and you won't do everything - at least not correct. You can write CSS style sheets, know everything about HTML - but do you know internet design? What about digital marketing? What about ad network contacts? In a future article I will give you some leads on some great up and coming and developers/marketers that will do an amazing job at a good price; then tell you why you can't do it yourself.

It's My Site and I Know Best

Today the most successful sites are about user freedom, not what you can cram down the throats of consumers. You don't like controversy? Too bad, get thicker skin and a stronger stomach - go look at your teenage niece's profile pictures on Facebook and ask yourself if Bill Gates (yep, major investor in Facebook) personally approves of her "I got so drunk, put my head in a toilet bowl and threw up while wearing a bikini when my friend took this picture but I posted it because I think it is cool" photo? That's your competition, later in the month we can discuss the current trends in online media.

I'm going to get a great PR firm and Advertise in traditional media

Your idea is so great the masses and media will flock to it; you just need the right people. Wrong again. Just look into Press release services and save yourself some start-up cash. That TV spot you saw for some dot-com? Either they advertised on television after their site got huge, partnered with a media group or have very, very deep pockets. I will examine why traditional forms of advertising for an online property usually makes no sense until the site has grown and matured.

Revenue

This section is not for people who sell niche items (cowboy boots and the like) - but it is for the rest of you that will realize that the internet is an advertisers and sponsors sandbox. You will soon see a trickle of cash coming in from AdSense, but the real money won't come until later - but you honestly have no idea how to get to that point, do you? Since you still are on Wikipedia looking up "CPA" we have plenty of time to discuss this gem of a topic - just make sure you have plenty of funding to sustain what you have started to build.

One - Trick Pony

You have your idea, understand digital marketing, put the funding in place, realized you have to make it on the internet first, humbled yourself, have a team and ready to endure a minimum of a year without much cash. So what's your Plan B? Didn't see that coming did you? Ask yourself this one question, "Am I still arrogant enough to believe that this singular idea will make it or should I start looking at back up measures to ensure a safety net? " "What can I do with my website if my first plan fails?"

And Finally.....

Content. Content is King but it isn't cheap. Whether it is a gaming site (no, those games aren't free and if you overpopulated your site with them get ready for some traffic slip), online magazine (writer's actually like to eat - models have to buy clothes) or social media site (yes it is user driven content, but the space on a server to hold all of their assets is cash driven) - it is going to cost and it better be good. With over one hundred million websites for a person to choose from, why should they visit a site that has "value" content? There will be some in-depth discussion on this topic.

Having a new idea for a website is just the beginning - but get ready for a lot of work. Most ideas are similar to those horrible people auditioning on American Idol, and allow me to be your personal Simon Cowell. Success and failure depends on what you know, how well you put it into practice and what the market actually would like. We all want to be the next Facebook, Google or Addicting Games, it just isn't that likely to happen. So please don't quit your day job, work on ideas much more and get ready for a huge amount of rejection. This contrasts what you have already read by other web developers, but then again - they are the Paula Abdul of internet.

Good Reason To Create Your Own Website

Creating your own website is NOT that difficult!

Why should you believe me? Well, I have been Internet marketing, on and off, for almost a year now. But I only really started to get the results I have been wanting recently (3-4 figures per month).

Why is that? Because I created my own website! Simples.

Before I was using FREE websites with sub-domain names longer than that of some Welsh towns:o) These sites were also full of AdSense and affiliate links and banners. Which is okay if you are driving tons of targeted traffic per day but I was getting far from this!

My main problem was focus. I had about four different sites and as many blogs on the go as well. Which I think you will agree is far too much work for any one person. I mean, trying to drive a steady flow of traffic to all these sites was nigh on impossible for one man!

So what I done next was difficult as I had worked hard (day & night) creating these sites but I had to do it, so I SCRAPPED all my 'so-so' sites and set about focusing on one site and one site only.

My one page squeeze page!

Well I almost instantly started seeing results. I was getting sign-ups to my list!

Sure I was getting some sign-ups before but it was nothing to write home about. The money truly is in the list and the sooner you start building your own list the better!!

Why an Outdated Website Is Worse Than No Website

Besides creating a global village, the information super highway or the internet has also revved up the pace at which all human activities are carried out today. So much so, that the shelf life of any kind of information is drastically reduced in today's world. Information needs to be current and well presented to capture and retain the attention of the present day audience. These are the two most important criteria that all businesses should keep in mind when designing and maintaining their website.

Updating your web content periodically is an absolute necessity if you want to retain your audience or add new viewers. The frequency of updates depends on the kind of information and the product or service you promote through the site. For example, an airlines company cannot do with a website that offers week old information about flights, but a wooden furniture manufacturer can afford to update the online product catalogue once a week.

The design and layout of your website have great impact on how well it is presented to the audience and how easily they can use it. A simple, easy to follow layout ensures that every user quickly finds what he is looking for, both within the free website as well as in each page. An effective page layout is also one that offers the flexibility to highlight different aspects of your business at different times.

Whether it is the actual information or the overall design, your site should be easy to assimilate and navigate through for a new user. After all, the primary objective your site is to give information, enable transactions or help viewers use your other services. Making these easy ensures that more and more visitors are converted to loyal customers.

Get the Best Shopping Cart With Magento Web Development

In the sphere of website development, Magento web development is one of the most favored open sources. And the moment anybody thinks of developing an online store, he or she has to hire Magento team for sure! You must be thinking why such statement? It is because the shopping cart structure and the userfriendly facility of Magento web development can be said as the best.

Now we can have a little discussion on - why use Magento for online store or how Magento shopping cart is worth using in a website.

  • First of all Magento has a clear code structure and integration of the codes are easy for a Magento team and even the APIs and other third-party application works fine with it.
  • It is the one shopping cart that provides multi-store facility and multiple shopping options with one page checkout. For the owner of the site it is a great opportunity to run multiple numbers of stores and the users get the chance for single checkout for whatever he or she shops.
  • You can ask your hired Magento team or the developers to integrate from more than 50 numbers of payment gateways with this shopping cart. Thus it resembles how much the coding is strong and flexible.

Website Developers Guide - 3 SEO Tips For Web Design

What is the central driving force behind a successful e-commerce website? While every detail about your business website counts, proper search engine optimization is a critical driving force toward business website success. Successful online businesses use SEO to drive targeted traffic to their website. When it comes to e-commerce websites, there are two types of SEO: on-page optimization and off-page optimization. I'm going to take you through on-page optimization. Also known as SEO for website development.

On-page optimization includes title tags, header tags, anchor text, and overall content. As a business website developer, your goal is to make sure search engines can see your website and index it under relevant search terms. To accomplish this, there are three important SEO tips every web developer should know.

1. Market research. Study your market niche inside and out. Who are your most successful competitors? Follow them and learn from the best. I'm not saying to go be a copycat. I'm telling you to find out what works and do it better. Find out how your competitors are succeeding. For example, what keywords are they using? Are they driving traffic through free or paid methods? What do their websites have in common? Look for similarities like layout, color scheme, title, header text, anchor text, and so on. All of these will clue you in on how you need to build your website.

2. Keyword research. Find out what keywords successful competitors are using in your niche. Their keywords are the first few words in the title, header, and even domain name. Find out the keywords people are typing into major search engines such as Google and Yahoo. This is very important. Ideally, you'll want to spend about 3 days gathering sufficient data. It helps to take notes and organize them using excel. Also, keyword tools like Google's own keyword tool and SEO toolkit are perfect for this job. They contain recent and accurate data and they're free.

As a guideline for choosing keywords, try to focus on more specific keywords in your niche. Choose keywords with less competition. This will tremendously help your website get found in search results. For example, say you're selling shoes. "Shoes" is a general keyword that you'd have a really hard time popping up in search results for. Choose relevant keywords with less competition such as running shoes for men, women's tennis shoes, dress shoes for prom night, sandals for the beach, kitchen clogs, children's hiking boots, 2 inch pumps, petite high heels, etc. One thing you must be aware of is using name brands like Nike or Reebok. You could use them for organic search results, but for paid ad campaigns such as Google Adwords certain name brands are not allowed.

3. Maintain keyword relevancy. Now that you've done keyword research, the third thing you need to do is maintain keyword relevancy. Google, Yahoo and other major search engines rank highly for relevant content. Relevancy is the foundation to success as a business website. Your title, header tags, body content, anchor text, the content of all websites linking to yours, they should all be keyword rich and share a common theme.

SEO for website development is critically important, but it's only maybe 30% of overall SEO. As an internet marketer, off-page SEO is a grueling, never-ending journey through trail and error where winner takes all. For the dedicated marketer, it's a rewarding addiction.

Work at Home - Websites Are No Longer Optional

Do you work at home? Do you have a website? If not, you are placing yourself in a very difficult position. The fact is that in order for a business to survive today, be it online or offline, it needs a website. The good news is that the costs associated with building a website have dropped drastically over the past decade. Hence, where it used to cost thousands of dollars to build a website, nowadays it costs just a fraction.

While I hate to caution against giving business to one entity over another, I have to do so in this instance. When searching for someone to build your website, I have to caution you to stay away from the larger companies. These entities have too many fixed expenses, which need to be passed onto their customers. Of course, every brick and mortar business in the world does this. However, in the case of web design, not every business is brick and mortar. Take advantage of this.

My strong recommendation is that you focus your attention on those web designers who work at home. Often times these designers have full-time jobs, but are looking for freelance projects to supplement their income. They do not have to pay rent for a 2400 sq.ft. office space, and therefore do not have these expenses to pass on to their customers.

Having just endorsed freelance web designers, I must also warn you that every designer has their own style. Thus, it is important that you see examples of their previous work before moving forward. Most will have a portfolio website, which links to examples of past work. This is an important step which should not be overlooked.

Finding freelance designers to choose from will not be a problem. There are several websites out there to facilitate this. For example, Elance, Guru, iFreelance, oDesk, and Scriptlance are great freelance portals to work with. Essentially, you will need to register, and then provide of listing of exactly what you need done for your project. Thereafter, freelancers will bid on your project. You will be able to see how satisfied, or dissatisfied, past customers were as each bidder has a rating if they have completed past projects which were commented on by past customers. You have complete control whether to accept or reject a bid.

However, if hiring someone to build your website simply is not in your budget, do not panic. You still have options. The best option which I can come up with is utilizing a Content Management System (CMS), such as Joomla or WordPress. Both of these give you the capacity to simply purchase a template, and build your website based off of the template and CMS platform. Just make sure that you take you time in selecting a template. It is of the utmost importance that your template be relevant to the theme of your business. Furthermore, since templates are not unique to you, it is best that you choose a less popular template so that another online business does not have a website which is nearly identical to yours. Nonetheless, whichever direction that you go in, just make sure that it ends up with you getting a website. You need a website if you work at home.

If you have made up your mind to Work At Home, I can tell you first hand that you are making a wise decision. However, anyone planning to Make Money Online doing so, you are going to need a website. The good news is that it is not difficult to build you own website nowadays.

Website Content - Spring is Finally Here - Is it Time For Some Website Spring Cleaning?

Yes, it's true - what has been eagerly anticipated by millions as the dreary days of winter slowly pass by is finally here. Spring is in the air, and as is traditional, it's time for new beginnings and spring cleaning. Now it might seem a little bit silly at first, but the truth is, most of our web sites could probably withstand a little bit of springtime sprucing up of their own.

Where To Start, Where To Start...

Perhaps this is the most complicated dilemma of the whole notion-where to begin. Probably the biggest first step that you can take here would just be to jump in and begin with a good in-depth review of your website. Sit down for a reasonable length of time with your website on the screen and a pencil and paper in hand and think about the following questions:

• Does my home page seem up-to-date with recent news and content?
• What about the look-is it modern and still relevant in today's web-centric environment?
• Is there too much clutter on the home page?
• What about the inside pages of the website...has the content built up to a point where some purging or spring cleaning would be beneficial to the sanity of your visitors?
• Are all of the links working correctly throughout the site, still pointing to existing, relevant resources?
• Phone numbers, addresses, and emails do change from time to time-is the contact information on your site still up to date?
• Are any old products listed or promoted on your site that should be removed?
• Any other dated content that you might want to keep, but should at least be archived?
• What about dated graphics or other like site components?
• Is it time to spruce up the look and feel of your website?
• What about adding new products or promotions to the site?
• Are you using clear, effective calls to action throughout the site?
• Could your landing page use a sales-driving makeover?
• How is your SEO performing...time for a review or updated plan in the traffic department?
• Any other new or potentially big ideas you can think of that might be worth at least brainstorming and reviewing further?

Sure, these are just a few things to think of in your website spring cleaning review, but should help you get started and come up with a good plan of action to bring some new life back to your website this season. Remember, high-performance websites are really no longer optional; they're essential to doing good business.

The Minimum Pages For Your Website

It is agreed that the core function of a website is to communicate with the visitors to the website. For this reason your website must be able to provide information about yourself or your business, have information available if visitors wants to contact you and also be able to showcase your services or products.

Therefore the 4 pages that must always be on any website are:

  • Home Page
  • About Us
  • Service or Products
  • Contact Us

The Home Page or Landing page is your website's most important page, as this is window to the rest of your website and usually the first page your customers will see if they go to your website. For this reason you should put the most effort into this page's layout and content. The page should also include abbreviated pieces of information that is linked to your other web pages.

Another very important page is the Contact page. There should be contact details or at least a link to your contact page on every other page of your website. This will ensure that customers can easily contact you. Your contact page must provide the customer with various methods of contacting you, including an email address, telephone number, fax number and also a contact form.

The About Us/Me page should be providing more information about yourself or your business, giving a bit of history and also your direction for the future. You can also include photos of yourself and your family or business on this page.

If your website is for more than just informational purposes, then you must also include a page or pages showcasing your services or products. You can either put them all on a single page or have separate pages for different services or products.

Even though there are numerous other web pages that one can create for a website, these four are the minimum required to have and must always be included in your website. This will ensure that you have an appropriate internet presence for your website.

Look out for a future article where I will give more detail on other web pages that can be included in a business website to provide a greater experience for your customers, as well as to boost the professionalism of your website and internet presence.
